Plastic tubes are the ideal packaging solution for goods, whose main focus is on product appearance and design. Plastic tubes nicely maintain their shape even as the filling good is emptied. For our extruded tubes there is a large palette of decoration options available, including our innovative LINHARDT HD-print. The use of coloured or highly transparent plastics, creates additional choices. Unlike aluminium tubes and sometimes even laminate tubes, plastic tubes keep their nice shape even when the filling decreases. Furthermore, they are resistant to dents and pressure marks.

Plastic tube bodies are cut from a tube hose that is extruded in one piece. As a result, they have no visible, unsightly welding seam - unlike laminate tubes – and look great from every angle.

Particularly plastic tubes often have a poor reputation in terms of sustainability. Wrongfully so, if sustainability aspects are already included in the development phase. Considering the main principles of sustainability, namely

Via the latest extrusion technology we are able to provide you with a customised, individual layer structure in your plastic tube.

LINHARDT continuously invests in cutting-edge manufacturing technology for plastic tubes in Germany. Within the next years about 4.5 million Euros will be invested in our Hambrücken plant. Our new extruder technology allows us to realize a customised layer structure configured according to your requirements. For instance, it is possible to integrate a high share of PCR material into the tube, but preventing the direct contact of the recyclate to the filling good. Thanks to our innovative HD-print, we’re producing not only particularly sustainable, but also outstandingly beautiful tubes.

LINHARDT BEST PRACTICE

PCR TUBE

We are able to offer plastic tubes containing a variable portion of PCR material. Up to 100% PCR material is possible. The PCR tube can be combined with other approaches to sustainability, as for instance reduced wall thickness or mono material.

MONO-MATERIAL TUBE

Body, shoulder and cap of our mono-material tubes are made of the same material, either PE or PP, resulting in a highly recyclable packaging. In addition, reducing the material in the tube body leads to further improvements in terms of sustainability.

LIGHTWEIGHT TUBE

Our lightweight tubes are available with different wall thicknesses. Mono-PE or Mono-PP tubes are possible.

MATERIALS

For our plastic tubes two raw materials, namely the frequently used polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), which is usually used for closures, are possible. Combined with either a PE or PP-closure, it is possible to realize tubes made from a single plastic material. Thereby, it is possible to achieve a very high recyclability. In addition, we offer tubes made of post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR). The production of packages from recycled packages contributes to a more sustainable circular economy.

DIAMETERS AND LENGTHS

Our plastic tubes are available in different diameters from 13.5 mm to 50 mm and the corresponding lengths from 50 mm to 200 mm. An overview about the possible combinations of diameters and lengths can be found in our data sheet.

THREADS AND CLOSURES

We are able to offer a broad variety of different threads and closures, e.g. screw threads, elongated nozzles, inclined nozzles, domed heads, shoulders for press-fit caps, sponge applicators and snap-on for dispensers and pumps. DECORATION

For plastic tubes there are various printing- and decoration technologies. Our own LINHARDT HD-print technique, a high-resolution variant of offset printing, makes a real eye-catcher out of your tubes. Of course, we also offer conventional methods like offset and silk-screen printing. In addition to finishes with matte-/ silk-/ or gloss lacquer, other refinements are possible as well. Special spots can be highlighted with embossing or partially applied spot-lacquer or double lacquer. Our decoration capabilities are diverse.
